What we believe

Grace Church is rooted in traditional Christian belief as understood by faithful followers of Jesus for over 2000 years. Those who call Grace Church home come from a variety of backgrounds: some from other denominations, some with little Christian background until coming to Grace.

We are part of the Episcopal/Anglican tradition of Christianity which seeks to be a middle way between the Roman Catholic and Protestant Churches (for more on Anglicanism click here).

We hold to the essential beliefs of the Christian faith as found in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds while embracing a variety of different beliefs and practices related to matters that are non-essential to the core of Christian belief.

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and "contains all things necessary to salvation."

We believe that Christianity is more than an intellectual system of belief. We also believe that Christianity is more than merely doing good deeds and having the right ethics.

It is a way of life that is both of these and much more, anchored in the unique life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

But wait, I'm not sure what I believe?!

At Grace we say that "doubts are ok, questions are welcomed, and please, come as you are." Faith is a journey that for most people involves doubt, wrestling with questions, and dealing with tough issues. We're all about that at Grace Church -- so please join us and bring your doubts and bring your questions, you'll find that you aren't alone. Many of us who have been Christians for years still have plenty of questions and plenty of doubts.
